SAFE HAVEN

Between midnight and dawn when the hot and cold dripping sweat feels like cold rain waking up dizzy seeing yourself as a drunken fool again and again. Hiding from the problems of your life is not an effective way of solving them. Nothing about sobriety is hard to understand it’s the way we try to live it that we make it difficult for ourselves. Living with addictions and the emotional torment is no easy ride. The decision to walk away is confusing with the fears we must confront. With every morning after we have the low feeling that no one cares about you and wanting to like yourself better but have not found any value about you yet. When you find it you will protect and defend it and this will only stay strong during sobriety. Relape will crush it and it will not be as strong again. Adding to more depression and the increase of the fear of self-destruction. This is the extreme dangers of relapse. During the morning after you may feel worthless and in most cases it becomes permanent. The addictions must stop now before you get this far along. The sadness will remain for awhile as the thoughts of addictions will stay with us. The warmth of our own acceptance begins it will slowly kill off all the discomforts in our soul. It is now empty as it waits to be filled with a better man. Sobriety is important and the only thing that will come to your rescue. Emotional strength will rise again and being sober is your safe haven. Your friends will be at the bar wishing they could be you. The long March down the dangerous road to your sober home wanting you to save them. Invite them in so that they can imitate your life to improve their lives the way you did your own.Wait for them they will be coming.

Being sober for any length of time is not easy at times but the struggle pays off.
