SOBRIETY WITHOUT END

I am sitting here drinking my coffee on a cold frigid morning in Arizona. I am reading about a man who stayed sober for 40 years. Enough to make every drinker become jealous. I thought of you and perhaps you would like to join the sober crowd. It is a subject we struggle with at times. “A helping hand to the world” as he refers to himself. He mentions how no means no with no exceptions. People have tried without end to get him to drink on Holidays. No is his answer without end. Sobriety improved his life and will continue to do so. “No end in sight” he says because no is mostly the cure. Continue on in your life and live it. Sober without end. I didn’t want the booze or the thoughts of it to keep giving me a headache so I wanted to get as far away from it as possible. I do write about the events of the life to help people solve their problems not to make them worse by drinking. I have been doing this for a long time and I don’t see an end in the near future. There are many things to do instead of drinking pick any one of them and enjoy it and sobriety at the same time. A value we see in ourselves is what keeps us thinking that being sober is the most important thing in our lives. Always protect it. Never let your guard down. Be careful. We will always stay safe this way and always be grateful to ourselves for it. Yes?

As long as I stay sober my writing will never end

REGULATIONS OF LIFE

Providing needs and wants in a business world keeps steady customers returning. Staying with loyalty. We control our own activity by being loyal to our own rules. Adjust to a quality of life to a desired level. We select a procedure and make it work in a particular way. We use this focus to make sobriety work. Can also be used to improve and stay within our own personal boundary. Many people do this and live single. Improvements are occasional. No stress involved. No need to strain our brain trying to think of ideas on how to change ourselves. Ideas,Inspirations,Devotions,The Bible, to name a few. Improvements will happen just look for it. Look for it in the Book of psalms. Relax and wait for it. While you are reading think to yourself how good it is to live sober each day. This is a good way to regulate your life. To a desired level.

FEAR OF BEING SOBER

Nifaliophobia – The fear of being sober. May lose your friends? Won’t fit in? The sober life may become too boring? When I became sober none of these ever happened. I fit in better with people, made more friends being sober. Who wants to be around a person who is drunk? Drunk or sober we all get bored at times. I never had any problems being sober for 40 years. Instead of worrying about being a failure at sobriety find ways to make it successful. When thoughts of failure come to mind it’s enough to make anyone start to worry. Don’t think about them think of ways to stay sober then the worries disappears from your mind. They are no longer a part of our lives so leave them alone. Then the stress will go away too. I don’t understand where fear fits in with sobriety for me the fears were finally gone and never returned. Being sober is an easy ride the life of booze never was. Is silly to be afraid of being sober just live it and enjoy it.

Forget the fear of being sober it’s the easiest lifestyle we can ever live

THE TRAVELING MAN

Riding in the midst of the golden sun I greeted a sitting man. Spending his precious time gathering, selling, and reading books. Takes the time to improve his mind. Absorbing the knowledge in his educated mind looks to sell his sources to passersby. Quoted as saying “My books, the printed pages of knowledge,is my literary gift to the world. Study as I have and be generous to the unlearned.” Feels good to be educationally generous. Gathering of lessons as often recalled in his memory assembled in fragments to preach to an anxious waiting crowd standing in a usually deserted area. Listening with close observation and eager open ears to catch an inspiration of life as many often do. To frame their literary portraits in their memory to later on tell their offspring someday. Telling the world at the same memorable spot what the older fellows have learned years before. Much more wisdom will be gathered and will be told by all. Their portraits will be proudly displayed in a memorable hall. Tales big and small started by the Traveling Man unknown to all. He kept books other people did not care to read. He learned from them and preached the power of their content because he believed we all have the need to learn from the lessons that was written in the books he found. “A simple idea is called a seed”.

THE MYSTERIOUS MAN

Why do we refuse to change and adapt? Don’t we see ourselves in the mirror? No conscience? Staying loyal to the profane life an honor code? Makes us feel alive in a promise of death lifestyle? Rather watch ourselves slowly emerge from life to death? Watching Rigor Mortis and decay as a way to stimulate our interest in the addictions lifestyle? Slow destruction into gradual wasteland? Smoking to eventually end in a pile of ashes along with our lives? Anxiously waiting for the day to come to see our skeleton laying dried and parched in the sun? The only phrase we earned is “The lost soul”. No one will care about us being alive. Who will care about us being dead? We live with addictions then the disastrous finish appears. Then someone can say to us “Not having much luck playing follow the leader”? Who wants life to end this way?

CHOICES

Come into this world without our consent. Leave this world against our will. About the only two times in life we haven’t a choice. Many choices in between makes life interesting. With addictions we have a choice to stop or continue on. End addictions or keep getting worse. A choice to improve is ours to make. Knowing what the right choice is for ourselves is important to learn. Knowing what good is. Sobriety or addictions use? Good knowledge or pleasure? Having knowledge and pleasure without addictions. Do all the things we want to do in life just leave out the addictions. I do. Want to get high? Go to the coffee shop. Ethics and morality we adapt to by choice. Nutrition is good health we accept by choice. The Bible,Philosophy and other words of wisdom by ancient thinkers. In front of us to choose to live it. What about us we choose not to improve the mind, body, and soul. Then I decided to follow the better life where I learned to improve myself. I also learned how I was destroying myself with addictions. I thought the bar scene was so great then I learned about the Bible. Then I wanted the same good life. To imitate the Bible. I adapt it to my life. I live a quality life today because I chose to.

WILLPOWER

Willpower is the strength of a flat refusal and not allowing us to be persuaded to change back into despair. Slipping slowly in reverse into the bottomless pit of darkness and misery. Where does it all end? How long can we tolerate this unbearable ordeal? I thought years ago “enough is enough” and ended the crazy life. “Welcome to my nightmare”. I know you’re going to like it”.

STAYING CONSTANT

Constantly stay strong by refusing addictions. Accept the proud feeling of the constant success you will experience each day. If we constantly complain how much of a struggle sobriety is it will make us weak. Nothing is more insulting when this happens. Nothing is more embarrassing when we relapse. Even worse living through it, even worse facing our friends. Let’s say you attended alcoholics anonymous meetings for a few months. You relapsed and returned to the same meetings again. I would feel very low. If the group of 12 steppers would ask you why did you relapse what will your answer be. All the time and effort the group devoted to you didn’t you learn enough about how to stay sober for the rest of your life. Alcoholics Anonymous is a powerful source to learn from, gain strength, providing us with a program to live daily and by doing so will keep us sober for life. With all these resources in front of you why did you relapse. By relapsing the group did not fail and not your friends either. Only you did. Let’s talk further about failure. You spent months in meetings voluntarily or by request of the judge or for whatever other reason. How you got there does not matter but what matters is that you absorbed massive amounts of knowledge and did not learn how to stay sober. The knowledge would have taught you how to resist the temptation of addictions. All of this information never stayed in your mind. In one ear and out the other. Were you asleep during every meeting? Did you think being drunk is more fun? Better to live on your feet than on your knees. Walk proudly with your head up than on your knees crying and praying with excessive remorse. No one is listening to you and I’ll bet not even to yourself. To avoid this problem listen closer and learn and live and practice daily that Alcoholics Anonymous program. See ya’ next time

THE SENSIBLE LIFE

A quality in a person that allows him to choose the sensible course. Caution,Discretion, Forethought the after effect from the sting of life’s lessons and trails on through life. Keeping our distance from the intense burning flame from lessons learned. More careful becomes the new tradition problem solving and peace creating process we prefer to live with. Courage is a quality of mind that enables one to stand in the face of hardship. Bravery, Heroism, persistence the strength that arrives at our awareness we are weak and powerless. No one likes the feeling of weakness so we turn away and strive to be stronger. Remaining inactive and accepting our weakness cowardice will prevail and overcome us. The courage will return with another dose of booze and a mind destroying drug. I know this so well I lived this life many years ago but no more. Booze was my preference drugs never was. Today I get my courage from the bible . No one ever learns anything by being a boozer.Courage makes successful sobriety. Always remain strong and always refuse the offer of a drink or drugs. Make your drink preference coffee and cream. When someone offers me a drink I say “no thanks. I’m not a drinker”. Simple as that. Justice is the Action,Practice, obligation of awarding ourselves what we deserve. The daily struggles of the courageous man and the simple practice and small input of effort in the tribulations of the struggling sober man. And the feeling of justice has been served.
