EVIL WAYS

Sorry we have offended God as well as ourselves. Insulting having to admit we are slow in learning. Pray, ask to be forgiven, then back to our bad habits. Is this the life the Bible encourages us to live? Why not live the good life the Bible teaches us? What is more important in life? Why live with remorse over and over? Because we enjoy it? The reason we don’t know better is because we never allowed sensibility in to replace it. Now that you know it exists start living it. Having a caring soul and loyalty to the word of God. In my days of drunkenness I wanted a better way of life. I found it all through the Bible. Make a lifetime promise to yourself, your mate, and to God. Days of improvement ahead. Time to end our evil ways. Being dishonest and lying and cheating ourselves is the worst. Staying closer to the Bible and staying sober is the best. If we don’t like the endless beginning and ending end the evil ways and never start again.

IMAGINE

Moping around with a long face, brooding, and depressed. Desperate for a piece of heaven destined for a crash landing. Most drinkers end this way then try harder to live a sensible life. Strange how most drinkers never see it coming. Start living a simple life. We dream what is impossible to achieve. Many failed attempts to end addictions. We struggle to find a solution to end our misery. Convinced we cannot be successful staying sober. Fear comes over us then we become desperate for an escape. Sitting in an empty room we naturally dream images to fill it in. Boredom is an emptiness in our lives. We imagine a life we cannot live. Strict living is essential to create strong focus on it’s benefits. To imagine living a sacred life for the first time. Imagine our lives without drinking. Many useless scenarios will disappear. During my sobriety I spend my time in a reality based world. Just imagine a life of staying sober and live the images we create.

GOOD TIMES

Issues beginning to form are minor. Over time they become major problems. Moral and Ethical learning becomes more effective. The importance of life returns to us. The addictions is long gone but the bitter thoughts remains. Fading with time. Now we adapt a sensible daily routine. In the early days when addictions first began we had a choice to turn away. Convinced good times were in the future. Minor trouble that we got into like drunk driving. We all thought drinking was still worthwhile. A strange following it is. How can drinking solve a problem? Addictions begins by listening to the wrong person. Sobriety is the wisdom I follow. Thinking of relaxing with cocktails after work when for years a cappuccino would have been enough. Drinking was never good times but hard times. Stay sober and have the best of times.

PRESENT TIMES

In present times addictions use is not new. The message sinks into the brain depending on the choice of words and style. Then the impact takes effect. Avoiding recovery ideas and methods because of lack of understanding. Possibly no message in it that tells them how to help themselves. The message will arrive in time to save us. Addictions and using is two worlds that in time will collide. With predictable results. The person we trust that addictions use is harmless. The tragic results we see happening to friends. Then we remain addictions free to help them. Ourselves at the same time. Prevention is preached to persons concerned for themselves and others. At times to the uncaring. I have seen this. When the damage is done there is no way back. The choice to be addictions free we can all imitate. And share with a friend.

SHADES OF BLUE

Loneliness is the cloak you wear. A deep shade of blue is always there. Emptiness is the place you’re in. There’s nothing to lose but no more to win. The tears are always clouding your eyes. When you’re without love. The moon will not rise in the sky. The world and everything about life stops. We pass from the deep shades of blue to brighter colors in a more cheerful life. An escape from booze is the start of reviving the soul. Thoughts that never ends. Constant inspiring thoughts . Composing the printed pages to put us in a soulful mood. Our energy of the free spirit will stride into many new beginnings. Never know where the free spirit awakenings will lead us. I discovered it was a perfect fit in sobriety. The only place we will ever find it.

I WHO HAVE NOTHING

Not to improve our lives but rather our choice of booze. Thinking what else is there? What is more potent than sobriety itself? A strong mind is our power. Energy to seek and find an ethical life to repair the damage drinking has done to us. Groups can change us. Get us started and never give up. Can help us recover from a loss. Simple group sessions can explain why we refuse to conform. And why some drinkers think relapse makes better sense. A simple “I don’t want this life anymore” kept me sober for many years. Does relapse replace the absence of what is missing in our lives? Go to bars and get drunk. Will you find it there and bring it home? What you will bring home is the same grief all the other drunken nights gave us in the past. Pretend to yourself that there is an advantage in every relapse you believed was worthwhile. We are all our own private fool. Is it worth an applause? Behind a locked door feeling guilty because you lied to yourself and everyone around you. Sobriety is based on honesty. Start with yourself and feel proud. Then you can give yourself a standing ovation.

THIS IS THE END

Not only the addiction itself is the annoyance also the reason we use them. To relax and be sociable and a tradition to drink on holidays. All can be done while sober. Daily use is more common as more reasons we invent to use them. All the comforts contained in the bottle that don’t exist elsewhere. This thinking is for fools. To think booze is a quick fix. What problem did it ever solve? Closer and closer we step towards the booze expecting a perfect remedy. Why believe this? Has it ever happened? We believe this long enough and someday we will crawl into the bottle of booze and never come out. Why? Because we believe all the solutions to life’s problems is there in every dose of booze we consume. The quick fix we believe is there. As long as we believe this our drinking will not stop. With this said now you have your reason to quit addictions. Sobriety is to protect us from the evils and the dangers of booze. What did addictions protect us from? Step into the safe life of sobriety. And all the solutions to our problems are waiting for us.

FELLOWSHIP

Not much of a life. Great as we pretend it to be. As the life of drinkers goes forces us into a low mood at times. Withdrawing us from life. Fellowship is what we seek to bring us out of our depression. The happiness of alcohol wears off and the result is unbearable. Finding out alcohol can’t fix our problems like we hoped it would. Refusing to admit it never will. We were all stubborn and kept trying. After a long period of time and several failed attempts the smart ones quit and confessed to themselves and the world that alcohol is a source of ruin not of hope. By joining and learning and working the program will create maturity for every contribution we make. What good does addictions do for us? Constant improvement or ruin? Has addictions solved your problems so far? Why keep trying? You will give up someday? When your brain is totally gone? Why not quit now before it is? Why the wait? Do it now before it’s too late. Join the fellowship where the Christian’s gather for each other.

SOLITARY MAN

Starting a family can be confusion and stress. Maybe all that family stuff isn’t for everybody. Only for the interested. I never was. Families are not the only devotion or calling in life. Spend our time with our main interest. For me to stay a solitary man. Some people prefer solitude in a dark room doing the only thing that interests us. For me being a writer. Not everyone is suited for married life. Some find stress free days being alone and writing about life. I write about sobriety. I know where my place in life is. Sitting here creating the printed page. My thoughts and experiences of the sober life to try and help others. I am content with being a solitary man. Here doing what I do best. Not out somewhere getting drunk. Here trying to write a post to help people like you become a better man. By getting drunk you are doing nothing for yourself.

MONEY TO BURN

Attending bars is like a country club we just joined. Excessive membership dues by the night not by the month. Attracted to the scenery. Only fools believe our money is well spent. Clubs and high finance is never worthwhile. High priced drinks. How much more booze you going to pour into your body? Your brain? Living carelessly. Like a ship without a rudder. No common sense to keep us on course. Wandering aimlessly among dangerous waters. Eventually the high sea waters will destroy us. Difficult to tread water in a rough open sea. The cold darkness slowly emerge. Promises in our prayers to god. Alone on a cold windy sea. No one to save us but ourselves. Sailing was not for me. I spend my days being the stranger on the shore. Too many ocean disasters? Isn’t it time to drop your anchor at the shore for the last time? And enjoy a peaceful relaxing life being sober?
