MIRAGE

We see the glamorous life of booze chasing after an eluding senseless mirage. In need of fun in our lives blinded by the glitter of addictions use we see a mirage not a small piece of the disasters ahead. When all the glittering lights go out we see ourselves in the midst of hard times maybe not if we seen the other side of the pumped up stories bragging about the life of booze. All we see is images that are not real but don’t know it until we experience our first binge. If we did know before having our first binge would we have said no to our first drink? I wonder. Across the land we see rock and sand and the desolate landscape of many dead boozers. Nothing is more real than this and it all began with a desperate escape from boredom. Cannot be found in the glitter world as fools we believed it. How serious is boredom that it has to be cured by a binge? Only a fool believes this. A recovering user will sit around learning how to stay sober and the boredom will always be there. Now what? More addictions to end more boredom? Thinking like this is what keeps the life of booze a never ending cycle of disasters for all. The life of booze is everything it promises to be and so does the life of being sober. The stories and the parties and the booze tricked us into drinking it. We feel like a fool to have trusted it but we were attracted to it by the good times we were promised well addicted to it before we knew it was all a lie. This is truth. When I discovered this after years of booze I chose to live an honest life. Sober. Living inside of a mirage and then stepping out of it and never returned to it. As we stay in the life of booze it will always be imagined images not a true reality. The real world is the hardship you will try to overcome as we all have to do it.

No more living in the glitter world of a mirage but an honest one being sober.
